This is the house that Jack built
There is within us a fundamental dis-ease… This desire lies in the marrow of our bones and deep in the regions of our soul... But the longing is there, built into us like a jack-in-the-box that presses for release… Whether we realize it or not, simply to be human is to long for release from mundane existence with its confining walls of finitude and morality. -Huston Smith

Meet Rory

I'm back!
It's been a while, but we were busy for the last 5 months.
Meet Rory McLeod Teigen.
He was born on Father's Day this past June (June 18/06).
He was just a little guy, only 6.14. It took him a while to gain some weight, but as of today, he is over 13 lbs.
Rory never sleeps, never naps, and somehow manages to be happy most of the time.
Rory, welcome to the blog world.

“A friend of mine, a young pastor who recently started a church, talks to me from time to time about the new face of the church in America – about the postmodern church. He says the new church will be different from the old one, that we will be relevant to culture and the human struggle. I don’t think any church has ever been relevant to culture, to the human struggle, unless it has believed in Jesus and the power of His gospel. If the supposed new church believes in trendy music and cool Web pages, then it is not relevant to cultures either. It is just another tool of Satan to get people to be passionate about nothing.”

Tale of 2 Bloggies
I have just realized that I have 2 blog sites. For the longest time I haven't been able to figure out what the heck is going on. Turns out, back in 2004, I tried to get a blog going, got distracted from it and couldn't remember any of my login stuff. So I started all over again. Then today, I went to post... and logged in to my old site. That's simply amazing! What luck to now have 2 blogspots. Maybe one could be the evil blog and the other the good blog.

the lust, the flesh, the eyes & the pride of life
Well, I feel
Like I have to feel
Something good all of the time
With most of life I cannot deal
But a good feeling I can feel
Even though it may not be real
And if a person, place or thing can deliver
I will quiver with delight
But will it last me for all my life
Or just one more lonely night
The lust, the flesh
The eyes
And the pride of life
Drain the life
Right out of me
Well, I see something and I want it
Bam! Right now!
No questions asked
Don't worry how much it costs me now or later
I want it and I want it fast
I'll go to any length
Sacrifice all that I already have
And all that I might get
Just to get
Something more that I don't need
And Lord, please don't ask me what for
The lust, the flesh
The eyes
And the pride of life
Drain the life
Right out of me
And I love when folks
Look right at me
And what I'm doing
Or have done
And lay it on about
How groovy I am
And that I'm looking grand
And every single word
Makes me think I'll live forever
Never knowing that they probably
Won't remember what they said tomorrow
Tomorrow I could be dead
The lust, the flesh
The eyes
And the pride of life
Drain the life
Right out of me
